Do honey-impregnated dressings affect glycaemic control?January 2010 
We have had no reports of the honey affecting the blood sugar levels of a diabetic patient due to the honey not being absorbed into the bloodstream, although we always advise monitoring the levels whilst honey treatment is taking place. However we thought this was an important point to be investigated and the findings reported officially. In partnership with our local multi-disciplinary team and the Diabetic Foot Journal we present a retrospective study that investigates the impact on glycaemia of honey-impregnated dressings used to treat diabetic foot ulcers at a multidisciplinary diabetic foot clinic.
