Advancis Medical triumphs in Medilink East Midlands Business Awards
18th of May 2012Advancis Medical has walked away with the Export Achievement Award in this year’s Medilink East Midlands Business Competition. The Kirkby-in-Ashfield based company collected the prize at the Innovation Day awards evening at the Belfry Hotel, Nottingham.
Founded in 2003, the company works with some of the world’s leading experts in their field, alongside patients and their carers, to develop solutions to wound-care management. The company’s global reach is impressive. Having successfully established key markets through a network of distributors in 36 countries around the world, including Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia, Europe and Australasia and satellite operations in Germany and France, Canada and a new operation in the US due to start in the middle of 2012.
BJN Awards 2012
3rd of April 2012Friday night saw the return of the BJN Awards at the stunning Landmark in London to celebrate nursing excellency across a variety of specialisms. Advancis Medical sponsored the Tissue Viability Award again this year and took along several guests to the event. We find it such an honour to be sponsors for such an excellent acknowledgement of what great work Tissue Viability nurses do and to really celebrate their hard work and dedication.

2nd of March 2012Basingstoke North Hampshire Foundation (BNHFT) established a link with Hoima Regional Referral Hospital (HRRH) in 2007. The link was set up as Basingstoke Hoima Partnership for Help (BHPH) to improve the services provided.
BHPH is a charity that was set up in November 2009 to fund the link with the object of improving standards of healthcare at HRRH and maintain professional and educational partnerships.
I am the Tissue Viability Nurse at BNHFT and am part of the Dermatology team. Currently Dr Fawcett is involved in developing a Doctor in Hoima to become a Dermatology specialist as specialists in this area are very sparse.
Dr Fawcett is a Trustee in the charity and had been arranging to go out to Hoima and assist setting up a Dermatology clinic. Whilst this was being arranged it was highlighted that wound care was an area that needed education so I was invited to join the Dermatology team.

19th of January 2012Advancis Medical has completed a substantial transformation and upgrade at its central site. Due to continuous growth in sales, the manufacturing capabilities have been expanded with new production lines installed, alongside state of the art quality and testing laboratories as well as improved changing facilities and a new canteen.
This expansion completes the last stage of a 2 year program which has seen the purchase of new warehouse facilities and a complete overhaul of the R&D centre. Advancis Medical now has the design, manufacturing and warehousing capabilities to meet its target sales growth over the next 5-10 years.
New published clinical work
9th of December 2011Our clinical evidence section has been updated with new published articles.
These articles tackle issues that include managing wound pain in burns patients and managing acute cellulitis. Also, very relevant at the moment due to the increased budgetary restraints within the NHS, an article discussing clinical performance and cost-effectiveness.
Unveiling our brand new exhibition stand
22nd of November 2011Wounds UK in Harrogate saw the unveiling of our brand new exhibition stand. We took the decision to increase our presence at Wounds UK in line with our continual growth within the wound care sector.
After several months of rebranding to create a clearer brand portfolio we decided we needed an exhibition stand to back this up, this resulted in the four pods displaying our key ranges along with fresh graphics and literature.... Read the full story here...
